Southern Parlor

I used to take long road trips down South to see my friends in Chattanooga and Nashville, Tennessee. This drawing was done in early January in the parlor of my Chattanooga friend. The family lived in a precarious house perched on one of the city's many steep hills. The house was filled with old re-made furniture, antique shop finds, original art by my friend and her artist father, and all sorts of fun things to draw or play with. My drawing here shows the room and its contents including the elegant ceiling fan and a big old TV set. My friend still lives in Chattanooga but no longer in this house.
